About
Permissionless Media is a media and events consultancy run by me, Joon Ian Wong.I’ve been in crypto since 2013 as a journalist, convenor, entrepreneur and advisor. I help clients build editorial and events products on my own and with my partners at Amplified Event Strategy. Together, we've started and scaled the largest and most influential events in the industry.I've worked as a journalist for CoinDesk, Quartz, and others. I started the Consensus conference in 2015, and scaled it to new markets. I was a co-founder of the Association of Cryptocurrency Journalists and Researchers, or ACJR, the first non-profit of its kind focused on crypto media.I've been listed in Business Insider UK's Tech 100 and my journalism has been a finalist for a Deadline Club award.I'm also super interested in no-code projects. I work mainly in Airtable and have built systems to scale and operate some of the industry's most demanding events within Airtable. I think many publishers and journalists could benefit from learning simple no-code automation flows.
